one of the biggest reasons why I switched from Canon to Sony several years ago is because of this reason which means that I have to carry fewer lenses with me on my photo and video shoots its actually two reasons but they effectively do the same thing which is zoom into my shot without using any extra lenses or tools I use these all the time especially when shooting with my prime or fixed focal length lenses so in this video Ill explain what these concepts are how they work and how to turn them on in your camera the first is called apsc or super 35 crop mode this only works on Sony full-frame cameras like the Sony a73 and this a74 so if you have a point and shoot or an apsc camera this wont work for you it also only works on Sony full-frame lenses not on crop sensor lenses but what it does is it crops in 1.5 times so you get a tighter field of view from your fullframe camera so if I used my Sony 20mm f1. .8 fullframe lens on the Sony a74 I can turn on crop mode and now I can shoot a

As McKeegan explains, An uncompressed Raw file is all the information from the sensor, wacked into a file and slung on a memory card, whereas compressed Raw files compress the data down. As you may have guessed, the main benefit of the latter is smaller file size.
RAW files contain uncompressed and unprocessed image data, allowing photographers to capture practically every detail they see in their viewfinder. The RAW file format stores the largest amount of detail out of any raster file type, which photographers can then edit, compress, and convert into other formats.
Uncompressed data means there is no data compression. The audio of an uncompressed file is the highest quality, but the file size may be very large. Data compression encodes file data so a file is a smaller size than if uncompressed.
Uncompressed vs. In simplest terms, an uncompressed audio file is an exact reproduction of the original. So, while theres no decrease in original sound quality, this extra-large audio file format requires docHub storage space. A lossless audio format has been compressed for improved efficiency and practicality.
RAW files are image files that can contain uncompressed and unprocessed image data, allowing you to capture practically every detail seen from the camera image sensor. Compression in photography is the process of reducing the size and quality of your photos.
Shooting in Uncompressed Raw is recommended when both high image quality and developing speed are required. This format allows for faster processing using development software compared to lossless compressed RAW.
Lossless Compressed RAW: Recommended when you want to record with the same image quality as uncompressed RAW but with a smaller file size. Compressed RAW: Recommended when you want to shoot continuously at the maximum speed, or to limit the file size.
