The TRIM notice tells you the taxable value of your property. Taxable value is the just value less any exemptions.
County Value Adjustment Board (VAB) The VAB hears appeals regarding exemptions, classifications, property assessments, tax deferrals, homestead portability, and change of ownership or control or and qualifying improvement determinations.
If you own and occupy your principal place of residence on January 1, you may apply for a Homeowners Exemption that will exempt $7,000 of your homes assessed value from taxation.
This law is designed to inform taxpayers which governmental entity is responsible for the taxes levied and the amount of tax liability taxpayers owe to each taxing authority. The property appraiser sends this information, known as the TRIM notice, to the property owner.

If you disagree with the property appraisers assessment, you can discuss the assessment with the property appraisers office, file a petition with the county value adjustment board (VAB) to appeal the property appraisers assessment, or both.
