all right everybody this is gonna be a quick way to show you how to get your restricted at Radio operators license I know theres been a lot of questions about it so I figured Id just show you a real quick how to do it so first of all go to FCC gov your dual licensing in databases and youre gonna go over here to you LS clicked on you LS was your universal licensing system and youre gonna be a new user so register register is going to receive your I far n number your register as an individual and your contact is within the United States if its not obviously put it now continue and then youre gonna enter your information here your social security number and all of your contact info and then youll click Submit all right so once you do that youre gonna get an email with your FRN number go back to FCC gov licensing in database you LS under the UL s now youre gonna log in with that FR n number you can see in the top left submit and its gonna bring you to your personal information

In the United States, FM stations are now limited to an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts. However, this limit was not in effect in the early days of FM and some of the older FM stations have been allowed to keep their ERPs above 100,000 watts.
Unlicensed operation on the AM and FM radio broadcast bands is permitted for some extremely low powered devices covered under Part 15 of the FCCs rules. On FM frequencies, these devices are limited to an effective service range of approximately 200 feet (61 meters).
Typically, a 1-watt walkie-talkie with an average number of obstructions in its path yields about a mile of coverage. Range increases by approximately 30-50 percent if you double the power.
You can apply for a GMRS license online, or by filing FCC Form 605. The FCC sets license filing fees annually, and licenses are granted for 10 years.
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit Private or Commercial Pilots who fly outside of the United States, or who wish to operate an HF Radio need to obtain a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit from the Federal Communications Commission or FCC.
An FCC license is required to operate GMRS system. Licenses are issued for a ten-year term and can be renewed between 90 days prior to the expiration date and up to the actual expiration date of the license.
You need a commercial operator license to operate, and/or to repair and maintain, specified ship, and aircraft radio communication stations. The licensing requirements for operating such radio stations and the licensing requirements for repairing and maintaining such radio stations are discussed separately below.

How long does it take to receive my GMRS license? Most GMRS licenses are issued within 24 - 48 hour time frame. The FCC Licensing Support Center hours are 8:00 AM 6:00 PM EST, M F.
The minimum power for a standard FM broadcast station which a construction permit applicant may request is 100 watts (0.100 kilowatts).
