You can double-space all or part of a Word document. To double-space the whole document, go to Design Paragraph Spacing, and choose Double. Tip: To double-space only part of the document, select the paragraphs you want to change, go to Home Line and Paragraph Spacing, and choose 2.0.
Change the spacing between characters Select the text that you want to change. On the Home tab, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher, and then click the Advanced tab. In the Spacing box, click Expanded or Condensed, and then specify how much space you want in the By box.
To double-space the whole document, go to Design Paragraph Spacing, and choose Double. Tip: To double-space only part of the document, select the paragraphs you want to change, go to Home Line and Paragraph Spacing, and choose 2.0.
There is spacing set in the before and after paragraph spacing, or the spacing is set to more than single. To correct it, select the text or Ctrl+A to select all of the text in the document. Hit Format Paragraph and put zeroes in the Spacing Before and After boxes, and set the spacing to Single.
You may have a section break immediately after where you want to see your space. Move the section break down by pressing enter, then go back to your line and youll then see the spaces you make. You can see the breaks by activating the paragraph show/hide on the Home tab in the Paragraph section.
To format paragraph spacing: Select the paragraph or paragraphs you want to format. On the Home tab, click the Line and Paragraph Spacing command. Click Add Space Before Paragraph or Remove Space After Paragraph from the drop-down menu. The paragraph spacing will change in the document.
