o create a first line indent in your document, go to the View tab and make sure the Ruler is displayed. Place the insertion point at the beginning of a paragraph and press the Tab key to create the indent. The First Line Indent marker on the Ruler will move forward 1/2 inch. Other indent markers include Hanging Indent, Left Indent, and Right Indent. Select the paragraphs you want to indent, then drag the First Line Indent marker to customize the indent. Hanging Indent moves all lines except the first, and Left Indent moves all lines uniformly.
