im okay with doing free work sometimes i dont want our decision to be made from a place of fear its a dangerous place right when youre really desperate you do desperate things and people could smell it on you you could see it a mile away but theres this project and you you just really like ah this is one of my dream projects and theyre theyre coming to you saying hey yeah we dont have what you normally charge would you consider doing this this is when i switch over im like im not looking at this as a business transaction anymore im looking at this as a marketing expense to me because im going to use that to trade up whenever i do projects at below rate my clients know that the normal rate is this this is what i would charge do this work and theyre very appreciative and after the fact they will write me a letter especially if its not profit uh the work that you created for us was worth forty five thousand dollars is the market value you can then use that as a deduction on
