Collaborate in Word Select Share. on the ribbon. Or, select File Share. Note: If your file is not already saved to OneDrive, youll be prompted to upload your file to OneDrive to share it. Select who you want to share with from the drop-down, or enter a name or email address. Add a message (optional) and select Send.
Enable editing in your document Go to File Info. Select Protect document. Select Enable Editing.
How to Activate Microsoft Editor Open your Word document. Make sure you are on the Home tab. On the right-hand side of the ribbon, under the Comments and Share buttons, you will see an Editor tab. Simply click on this, and it will appear. As you write, it will auto-populate based on your language settings.
Unlock a protected document On the Review tab, in the Protect group, click Restrict Editing. In the Restrict Editing task pane, click Stop Protection. If you are prompted to provide a password, type the password.
How To Unlock a Document for Editing Using the Password Open the document. Click the Review menu. If you cannot see the Restrict Editing icon in the ribbon, click Protect. Select Restrict Editing. Click Stop Protection. Enter the password in the pop-up window and click OK. The document can now be edited.
Enable editing in your document Go to File Info. Select Protect document. Select Enable Editing.
Try opening Word is safe mode and seeing if the Editor appears on the Home Tab as well. If so, the absence on the Home tab when you start Word regularly is likely due to an Add-In, perhaps the same one. The Editor button has finally returned to my Word after several runs after repairing the entire Office package.
