Voiding a document cancels all outstanding signing activities. Once you void a document, recipients can no longer view or sign it.
Any stand alone or voided document alone can be canceled even when all signatures have been obtained. If the document has an attached invoice or subscription attached, it must be in a status of unpaid, overdue, or failed, otherwise it cannot be deleted.
What do signers see when I void an envelope? Signers will be notified via email that the document has been voided. You can include a brief message with the email stating the reason for voiding the envelope.
Note: You cannot unvoid an envelope. Once you void an envelope, or if a signer refuses to sign, which voids the envelope, there is no way to reactivate the transaction. Your only options are to create a copy of the voided envelope and start the transaction over again or create a new envelope from scratch.
How to void an envelope From the Manage page, locate the in process envelope that you want to void. Click the drop-down arrow to show the actions menu and select Void. Enter a brief reason for voiding the document. Confirm your action by clicking VOID.
My document has a watermark that says in process on it. How can I remove that? The watermark will remain on the document until all signers have taken their assigned actions. Once the workflow is complete, the watermark will no longer be on the document when you log in and retrieve it from .
Voiding envelopes in cancels the signing process and signing request for any remaining signers and places a VOID watermark on the document(s). All recipients will receive a final notification that the envelope has been voided, and senders are required to enter a reason when voiding envelopes.
Voiding stops recipients from viewing or signing the document. You can also void an envelope to stop email notifications to a recipient if the recipient does not want to or need to sign the envelope. Notes: If you are the signer and you wish to void or cancel an envelope, you can decline to sign to cancel.
Documents that expire are automatically voided by . This means that they cannot be brought back, however you may view them in your Sent folder. To determine if voided envelopes were voided due to expiration or other reasons, you need to open the envelope to view the reason for voiding.
After an envelope is voided, recipients can no longer view or sign it. Recipients that have already signed the envelope are sent an email informing them that the envelope is voided. You can include a message stating why.
