However, you cannot encrypt a CSV file directly without using a third-party program. One (and probably the simplest) way to protect your CSV file is to enclose it in a zip archive and password-protect it. Converting your CSV file into a spreadsheet is another option for adding security to your data.
Right-click (or press and hold) a file or folder and select Properties. Select the Advanced button and select the Encrypt contents to secure data check box. Select OK to close the Advanced Attributes window, select Apply, and then select OK.
Protect an Excel file Select File Info. Select the Protect Workbook box and choose Encrypt with Password. Enter a password in the Password box, and then select OK. Confirm the password in the Reenter Password box, and then select OK.
