Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can create your very own fillable form using Microsoft Word. First off, what is a fillable form? You can have people go in and fill out a form, but they wont be able to edit the questions or the structure of the form. You can use things like check boxes, text fields, drop down lists, date pickers, to build your form. Once someones finished completing your form, they can e-mail it back, they could print it out, or you could even connect it to a database. Connecting to a database is outside of the scope of todays tutorial. Its kind of like an docHub PDF form, but its Microsofts version of it. Ive included sample files today if you want to follow along, otherwise lets jump on the PC and lets get started. After you insert a text box on a form template, you can customize it by accessing and changing its properties and settings in the Text Box Properties dialog box. To open the dialog box, on the form template, double-click the text box whose properties you want to change.
Did you insert the text box from the gallery at Insert | Text Box? In that case, the text box may contain a content control which has predefined content. You will have to switch to Design Mode to edit that content.
How to Edit a Textbox in Word Click anywhere in the Word text box to enter editing mode. Click and drag your mouse across a section of text to edit it. Click the Home tab to access text formatting tools.
Edit Multiple Text Boxes at Once Hold down shift and click each text box that you want to change. Once all the text boxes are selected, you can apply the styling changes you want. For example, you can select a new colour or pick a new font.
First of all, click on one text box to trigger the Format tab. Then click Selection Pane in Arrange group. In the window open on the right side, use Ctrl to select all text boxes on a specific page. Now you can set the same style to all text boxes selected.
In the document, click where you want to add the control. On the Developer tab, under Form Controls, select Text Box, Check Box, or Combo Box. To set specific properties for the control, select Options, and then configure the properties that you want.
Across the top of the Google Docs toolbar, locate and click Insert. A dropdown menu with several options will appear. To add a text box, choose Drawing and select New. This action will open a checkered screen. This is the screen you will use to draw a text box.
Modifying text boxes Select the text box you want to change. On the Format tab, click the More drop-down arrow in the Shape Styles group. A drop-down menu of styles will appear. Select the style you want to use. The text box will appear in the selected style.
