Add a drawing to a document Click in your document where you want to create the drawing. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes. When you find the shape you want to insert, double-click to insert it automatically, or click and drag to draw it in your document.
Switch to the Components View and click on the Text Styles tab in the toolbar. Choose the style that you want to edit and make your changes in the Inspector. Any changes you make will automatically apply across layers that use that Text Style in your document.
Draw a freeform shape On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes. Under Lines, do one of the following: To draw a shape that has both curved and straight segments, click Freeform.
Right-click the text on which you want to base a new style. In the mini toolbar that appears, click Styles, and then click Create a Style. In the Create New Style from Formatting dialog box, give your style a name and click OK. Your new style will now appear in the Styles gallery.
Format text in a shape Open the diagram for editing. Double-click the shape with the text that you want to format. By default all the text is selected. Select Home and do the following: To change the font, select from Font Name or Font Size . To stop formatting, click outside of the shape or press Esc.
Copy a Visio drawing to a Word document Make sure nothing is selected, and then, on the Home tab, click Copy or press Ctrl+C. In Word, click where you want the Visio drawing to appear and then click Paste or press Ctrl+V.
