On the web, go to Amazons Send to Kindle page. Drag and drop your file to the large square area, or click on Select files from device and choose the file you want to send. (The maximum file size is 200MB.) There will be a list of supported file types on the page including PDF, DOCX, and ePub, among others.
How to convert Kindle to PDF is as follows: and download Calibre. Select Add books from the menu. To add a Kindle book to Calibre, navigate to it and double-click on it. Choose the additional book. Select Convert Books from the menu. Choose PDF from the Output format drop-down option. Click OK.

Use Amazons Send to Kindle app: Amazons Send to Kindle app allows you to send documents and eBooks to your Kindle device or app from your Linux computer. You can download the app from the Amazon website and it on your Linux computer.
Apparently amazon does not make a kindle reader for use with linux. They seem to for iphones, mac, android, and windows. On linux calibre seems able to read the kindle books, though it does not connect directly to kindle. You might be able to use the installer for the kindle reader with wine, but I have not tried that.
Send Ebooks to Your Kindle E-reader Manually Log in to the account you used to purchase your ebook. On the Content tab of Manage Your Content and Devices, locate the ebook that you want to send and click on the Actions button. Click on Deliver to Default Device (or) Others.
To add books Calibre, if youre using ubuntu now, just click this link to calibre. Plug the Kindle into your PC with the USB cable, and wait for it to be mounted (a window will pop up when its mounted) Start Calibre. Youll see this icon bar:
With the Kindle Fire 8 or newer there is an icon that shows up when the USB cable is plugged in, showing that the device is charging. Tap that and switch the device to data transfer mode, and then start calibre, it should then be detected.
