When changing permissions on an existing file, open the file and press Ctrl+d to open the document properties dialogue box. Click the Security tab and choose Add Security to adjust the permissions and add a password -protect option. Again, you can only make these changes as an administrator on the original file.
Remove password security Open the PDF in Acrobat. From the All tools menu, select Protect a PDF. From the left panel, select Remove security. Your options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document: If the document has a Document Open password, select OK to remove it from the document.

Remove Protection from PDF Click on the Security tab. Look for Permissions and choose No Protection. Click OK and then Apply to save your changes.
