Hello Im Jennifer Whitt, Director of ProjectManager.com [Music Intro] Welcome to our whiteboard session today on how to manage team conflict. One of the most difficult things that we as project managers can encounter. Its really where project managers go from the hard skills to the soft skills because, in truth, a lot of it is subjective. I want to give a few pointers that weve found along the way and just know that this topic could be a series. I could literally probably write a thesis on this one topic. But a few things to point out. The word manage means actually to control, so theres a decision point in a project is this something that I want to stop, or is this something that I want to fuel? Because there are time we want to stop it when its not helpful and when we want to fuel it when it does become helpful. So, when do we want to stop? If were disrespecting people- whether its our team members, or vendor partners, or stakeholders, or if were hindering progress the

Resolutions by the Security Council are legally binding. If the council cannot docHub consensus or a passing vote on a resolution, they may choose to produce a non-binding presidential statement instead of a resolution.
Draft resolutions and decisions are proposals submitted by one or more member of the Commissions, or by a member state representing a Group (e.g. EU, GRULAC etc.) ( called the sponsors) for consideration by the Committee of the Whole and adoption by the Commission.
Resolutions are formal expressions of the opinion or will of UN organs. Decisions are another type of formal action taken by UN bodies. They often concern procedural matters such as elections, appointments, time and place of future sessions.
A non-binding resolution is a written motion adopted by a deliberative body that cannot progress into a law. The substance of the resolution can be anything that can normally be proposed as a motion.
Resolution 377 A (V) maintains that an ESS of the General Assembly can be called if requested by the Security Council on the vote of any seven members [nine since 1965 when the Council expanded from 11 to 15 members], or by a majority of the Members of the United Nations.
The most important part of resolution 377 A (V) is section A which states that where the Security Council, because of lack of unanimity of the permanent members, fails to exercise its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, the General Assembly shall seize itself of the matter.
The resolution was passed with an overwhelming vote of 143 in favour, 5 against and 35 abstaining. This resolution achieved more votes in favour of condemning Russias actions than Resolution ES-11/1, the initial resolution on the Russian invasion of Ukraine which demanded that Russia withdraw its forces from Ukraine.
The only resolutions that have the potential to be legally binding are those that are adopted by the Security Council. This explains why Member States consider it so important to adopt a resolution that has the widest possible agreement among Member States.
