Even though it can feel unsettling, landlords and letting agents are allowed to take pictures of your home during an inspection. This is because they may need to use the photos as evidence that the visit took place and/or of the propertys condition.
A landlord is not allowed to take pictures of a property when a tenant is occupying it. This is a major tenant-right when a landlord sells property in Ontario. It is to protect a tenant from having their private belongings posted online or shared publicly without their consent.

Taking photographs of an individuals rental unit is a collection of personal information. The landlord must identify the purpose prior to, or at the time of, collection, and also obtain your consent.
