hi welcome to Tuts plus my name is Bob Blitzer and I want to show you an essential feature of Microsoft PowerPoint that many people overlook and that is how to use master slides when you want to give an overall format to a PowerPoint presentation dont apply the formatting to every slide individually because not only is that time-consuming but its very easy to be inconsistent maybe you apply a font of say size fourteen on one slide and maybe then you slip and apply size 13 on another slide and once you do that what happens if you change your mind maybe you want to change a color or font then you have to go through the entire presentation making changes to individual slides that just compounds the problem now you might know that in the Windows version of PowerPoint you can go to the design tab or on the Mac version you could go to the themes tab and apply one of these themes and thats great but what if you want to make some changes later on or maybe you dont want to use these themes

The slide master defines the formatting and positioning for common elementssuch as title placeholders, content placeholders, and footerson the corresponding slide layouts. The changes that you make to the slide master are reflected on associated slide layouts.
Change the slide master Select View Slide Master. Make the text, color, and alignment changes you want. If you want to use a predefined theme, select that first by clicking Themes on the Slide Master tab. When youre done, select Close Master View.
Make changes to the slide master On the VIEW tab, click Slide Master. In the Slide Master View, the slide master appears at the top of the thumbnail pane with related layouts beneath it. Click to select the master slide, and then on the SLIDE MASTER tab, click Master Layout.
Make sure you are on the main Slide Master (the one at the very top in the left column). Click on the edge of the Title text box, then go to the Shape Format Ribbon. Click on the Edit Shape button, then choose Change Shape, and pick the style you would like.
On the View tab, click Slide Master. In the thumbnail pane that contains the slide masters and layouts, pick the layout that has closest arrangement of placeholders to how you want your slide to look.

Locked shapes, objects, images or tables in your PowerPoint presentation can be unlocked using PPT Productivity. Select the PowerPoint slide/s containing locked shape(s) you need to unlock, then click Unlock objects (Found beneath the Lock Object icon on the PPT Productivity Ribbon).
Modify the title element On the View menu, point to Master, and then click Slide Master. In the navigation pane, click the slide master. The slide master is the top slide in the navigation pane. Select the title element on the master slide, and then drag the sizing handle to change the size of the title element.
On the Playback tab, select Insert Captions, and then select Insert Captions. In the Insert Captions dialog box, browse to your caption file. Select the file or files and then select Insert. If you need to add more caption files, just repeat the process.
In every slide, click on the title box and type in a unique name. Note: To restore the placeholders for a particular slide, on the Home tab, under Slides, select Reset option. 1. In every slide, type a unique name in the Title box.
