welcome to OpenOffice video I am Martin and in this video I will show you how to create simple text boxes in OpenOffice writer the default way for to do this is use insert sorry I have to select the document first insert and then frame create a frame insert text within that and then format that one but I find it very cumbersome and not very intuitive to use theres another way I will show you will just create a drawing and insert text internet and the drawing we will create well you can of course use any shape you want but since this is about text boxes it will just be a square or a rectangle now you see here below we have the drawing toolbar if you dont see this go to view toolbars and click on drawing see here it disappears I will put it on again now we will create a rectangle we will just put it well lets put it here we will format it so thats its just ordinary boring white with any color of course suits suitable and we click here on the text bar we and we can use the type of wa
