[Music] some people prefer using different colors to highlight certain parts of the document to stress parts that are important and need to be stressed upon and like any modern word processor google docs not only lets you highlight text but also different elements in a document like images and tables and heres how to do that first is you have to open google docs in your browser and open a new document or the document youre working on here we have a blank document and we will insert the picture with the text we want to be highlighted by going to the insert tab then select image and then insert the image once inserted what you want to do is insert a rectangular shape by heading to the insert tab again click on drawing and then select new when the drawing box appears choose shapes click on shapes and then draw a rectangular shape the next step is to choose the color by clicking the fill color and choose custom here you can choose your preferred color but make sure to change fill transpa

Here is how to select text: To select just one word, double-click on the word. To select one letter or multiple words, click and hold your mouse or touchpad down, then drag it to highlight the letter or phrase.
Highlight Text The highlight will be done in yellow color by default. However, the color and the opacity of the text can be changed by selecting the option of Properties from the drop-down menu over right-clicking the text.

With the document open, click Add-ons and select Code Blocks from the menu. A new right sidebar will open (Figure A), where you can make use of the tool. Code Blocks is installed and ready to go. To use Code Blocks, write or paste your code in the document.

Open a Google Doc as normal.You can use the Show add-on to display non-printing characters by doing the following: Click Add-ons in the top menu bar. Hover above Show in the drop-down menu. Hover above Show again in the slide-out menu.
On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Select the text you want to change. Click Text Color . Select the color you want.
But here are a few keyboard shortcuts to select text: Ctrl+A Select all. Shift+Left or Right arrow Extend selection one character left or right. Shift+Up or Down arrow Extend selection one line up or down. Ctrl+Shift+Left or Right arrow Extend selection one word left or right.
