If they are and you have Word configured to not print Hidden text, the footnotes will not be visible in Print Preview. Youll also want to check to make sure that Track Changes isnt turned on.

With Classic Menu for Word 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019 installed, you can click Menus tab to get back the classic style interface. Click Menus tab. Move to Reference menu; click the down arrow next to it. Choose Insert Footnote in the drop down menu.
