Removing pages from a table of contents Do one of the following: In the Title Explorer, double-click the graphic of the table of contents. In the Table of Contents group, click Included Pages. The Included Pages window opens. Clear the Show Pages check box. Click OK.
In the Styles and Formatting window, choose Numbering Styles and select a style such as Numbering 1. Right-click on the style and select Modify. On the Numbering Style dialog box, go to the Outline page, where you will find that one style matches our requirements. Click once on that style.

Select the References tab. To add the annotations to the TOC, select Options. Clear the Show page numbers check box (Figure C).

Update a table of contents Go to References Update Table. Select one of the following: Update page numbers only This only updates the pages that the headings are on, and ignores any changes to the heading text. Select OK.
Scroll down and click on Index and Tables. Select the Table of Contents tab in the dialog box that opens. Uncheck Show Page Numbers. This will remove your page number.
Removing page numbers would be an easy way to create the Table of Contents for an ebook. Step 1: Select the table of Contents. Step 2: Go to the Insert menu at the top of the screen. Scroll down and click on Index and Tables. Select the Table of Contents tab in the dialog box that opens. Uncheck Show Page Numbers.
If the list is a numbered list, click on the Numbering tool located on the Home tab of the Ribbon, in the Paragraph group. Word displays a drop-down list. Choose None from the Numbering Library group. Word removes the numbering format from the selected text.
