Im Craig from the Silver Spur in Waterloo Iowa and today were going to talk about a saddle intact problem that a lot of us have we have it here in Iowa any states that are humid and depending on where you store your saddle mold on your tack and on your saddles is a constant problem in some places um it just it can make your side look terrible so quick if you dont know how to treat your saddle the proper way to slow down the growth of the mold it depends on where the saddle was made and who the manufacturer was but its a lot less expensive to oil leather with vegetable oil than with pure neats-foot oil our products with mold inhibitors in them so some places that make saddles that have very low humidity Arizona for example some of their saddle makers again use vegetable oil to keep their costs down and that vegetable oil is what causes mold in your saddles our helps promote you know extreme mold in your saddle Im going to show you a trick that an old saddle maker from Texas taught
