Whereas in Excel 2016 and older versions, the Track Changes command appears in the Review tab by default, in Excel 365 and 2019, youll have to add it manually.
See the changes that have been made to a workbook by going to the Review tab. Then click the Show Changes button. This will open up a task pane on the right side of the worksheet that has a running list. The list contains all of the changes that have been made in the workbook.
Step 1: On your Ribbon, select the Review tab. Step 2: Verify that the new group Track Changes is on the Review Ribbon. Step 3: Click on Highlight Changes and a new dialog box should launch. Step 4: On the dialog box, tick the box beside Track changes while editing.
When you highlight changes as you work, Excel outlines any revisions (such as changes, insertions, and deletions) with a highlighting color. On the Review tab, click Track Changes, and then click Highlight Changes. Select the Track changes while editing. This also shares your workbook check box.
Excel 365 has a detailed history of workbook changes down to the cell level so users can see whats changed, when and who did it in Show Changes.
Turn on Excel Track Changes feature On the Review tab, in the Changes group, click the Track Changes button, and then select Highlight Changes. In the Highlight Changes dialog box, do the following: Check the Track changes while editing. If prompted, allow Excel to save your workbook, and you are done!
Heres how: Click Open in Excel. Select the cells containing the data you want to format. Click the Format Cells box launcher. Tip: You can also press Ctrl+5. In the Format Cells box, under Effects, click Strikethrough. Save the workbook and reopen it in Excel for the web to see the changes.
If the Track Changes button is unavailable (grayed out) in your Excel, most likely your workbook contains one or more tables or XML maps, which are not supported in shared workbooks. In that case, convert your tables to ranges and remove XML maps.
