These are things that can give your map a little bit more of an organic feeling. I want to show you how to do this in Illustrator; thats what Im most familiar with, most comfortable with. But the ideas that Im going to show you here could really be done in other programs, too, and well circle back to that near the end and talk about some ways that you might enact this in GIS for example.
