make sure youre using headings in your Google document this not only makes your document more accessible for screen readers it also helps populate the document outline so notice in my document Im going to change this style up here from normal text to title and here Im going to change it from normal text to subtitle and coming down I have these headings I want to do heading 1 and a subheading of heading 2 and then over here on the left it says show document outline and you can see that the headings have automatically populated those sections and when I click on it it jumps to that section

Make a title or heading On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Select the text you want to change. Click Format. Paragraph styles. Click a text style: Normal text. Title. Subtitle. Heading 1-6. Click Apply text style.
Headings in Google Docs Avoid the Title and Subtitle styles always start your document with Heading 1 (H1). Nest headings in proper order e.g. H3s should be nested under H2 and H4s under H3. H4 should not be nested directly under H2.
You can also open the Edit Link dialog box by pressing Ctrl-K on your keyboard or clicking the Insert Link chain links icon on the Google Docs toolbar. After you create a link, always check that it takes you to the correct bookmark anchor.
Insert collapsible text boxes Go to the Insert panel and scroll down to Collapsible text. The collapsible text box will appear have a Heading box and a Normal text box. Add the text you want to be visible on your page all of the time, in the upper heading text box.
