welcome back everyone to the george james and associates research tools channel my name is stephen lee and in this short video im going to teach you how to redline a paper this is very important for a number of reasons and a number of things that are going to come up in your academic career sooner rather than later so itll for sure come up in your dissertation so lets say that this is a very short dissertation work that ive done its not of course right because the dissertation can be its like tens of pages if not over 100 pages so anyway lets say this is my dissertation i submit this to my committee and then they come back and they have a number of comments right and theyve done a lot of stuff to it and theres basically comments right they would go and im going to show you right now lets say that they just dont like this title so they would they would highlight that they would end they go to insert in microsoft word go to the insert tab comment and instead of my name its t

On the Review tab, select Track Changes. In the Track Changes drop-down list, select one of the following: To track only the changes that you make to the document, select Just Mine. To track changes to the document made by all users, select For Everyone.
Change the track changes color Go to Review Tracking Dialog Launcher . Select Advanced Options. Select the arrows next to the Color boxes and the Comments box, and choose By author. You can also color-code text moves and changes made to table cells.
Press Ctrl+C to copy the text to the Clipboard, or Ctrl+X to cut the text. In the target document, place the insertion point where you want the text inserted. Make sure that Track Changes is turned off in the target document. Press Ctrl+V to paste the text from the Clipboard.
Use Show Markup Select Review Display for Review. Select the option you want: Simple Markup points out where changes are made with a red line in the margin. All Markup shows all edits with different colors of text and lines.
Step 1: Go to the Review tab and select All Markup in the drop down menu (Word 2019). Step 2: Click on Show Markup below All Markup (Word 2019) and make sure all options are ticked.
To do this: Go to the Review tab and Tracking section of the ribbon. Click the drop-down box at the top of that areathis likely shows either All Markup or Simple Markup. Select the No Markup option.

Is there a Word strikethrough shortcut? Select the text you want to strike through. Press Ctrl+D. A font dialog box will appear. Press Alt+K. The strikethrough feature should now be selected. Press OK. The text will now have a line through it.
