Im Erin from TechSmith and today Im going to show you how to blur an image or screenshot. [intro music] First, take a screenshot or open an image with Snagit. If you dont have Snagit, theres a link in the description below for a free trial. With your image open select the Blur tool from the drop down menu. Click and drag over the areas you want to blur. To change the intensity or type of blur, select the blur, then change the option in the Properties panel. When youre done with the image, click the Share button, or drag it directly from the tray. One of the easiest ways to redact information from an image file is to use a basic photo editor and overlay the sensitive information with a shape. Helpful Tips: Make sure the shape is set to 100% Opacity (or 0% transparency) Make sure to save the final image in a format that does not support layers.
To do that, start by visiting ScanWritr online app. Then, upload the image that you wish to redact. After that, you can use the eraser tool to remove sensitive parts from the document. Finally, you can append new content to your document by using the pen, text, marker and signature tools, as well as insert new images.
Blur a picture in Word or PowerPoint Use Insert Pictures to place the photo in your document. Select the photo on the canvas. On the Picture Format (or Format) tab of the toolbar ribbon, select Artistic Effects. In the gallery of picture options that opens, select the Blur option:
Start Windows Paint and open the image (or paste in a screen shot). Change the Color 2 (background/fill) to Black or some other color. Then draw a box around the area to redact. The box can be resized and moved around.
You can quickly draw a solid color rectangle over sensitive information to make it almost impossible to decipher. On Windows and Mac, any free image editor, such as MS Paint or Preview, can do the job. All you have to do is draw any shape such as a circle or a rectangle and fill it with a solid color.
You can do so by tapping on the pencil tool from the markup toolbar and then sliding the thickness slider all the way up to the right side. Doing so will properly hide the sensitive text on a screenshot, allowing you to redact text right on iPhone.
The Screenshot Redaction feature is customizable and can be enabled for almost any type of sensitive information youd like hidden when a screenshot is taken.
How to redact a screenshot Navigate to the desired Scribe. Make sure it is in edit mode. Zoom Saved. Click the edit screenshot shortcut. Click Redact Forever Press, hold, and drag over the area you would like to redact. Before you save make sure the redacted area looks good. Click Done to permanently redact.
