were gonna make a polka dot repeating pattern in about a minute in docHub illustrator so im starting with a two inch by two inch canvas im gonna use my rectangle tool and just make a square the same size as my canvas and you can fill this in with any color that you want then were gonna get our ellipse tool double click im making these one inch by one inch change the color of that were gonna align this to the center of our canvas with the selection tool im holding down alt option if youre on mac and then were just gonna center this to the corner and were gonna do this on all four corners now were going to select everything go to our pathfinder divide then with the direct selection tool im just going to select each of these parts that are outside of our canvas and delete them now select everything object pattern make click ok and this is our polka dot pattern so if that looks okay we just click on done and now when we go to our swatches panel our polka dot pattern should be ri
