How to add a partial strikethrough in Excel Double-click a cell to enter edit mode for that cell. Select the text you want to strike through. On the Home tab of the ribbon, click the Font Setting button in and choose Strikethrough or use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + 5 or CMD + Shift + X).
