[Music] hi im belinda carley the director of the institute of personal care science and i get asked a lot of little questions about balm and stick formulas and how to fix some common problems so i thought id make a video to help you out so on the screen im showing you an example of say a formula where theres quite a few issues but we can fix them and if you have a look there youll see that weve listed out by percent weight all of the ingredients now if youre not sure how to write a cosmetic formula please watch my video on this and it explains why we write everything by percent and weight and if youre not sure how to read a cosmetic formula ive got a video on that too so please give that one a watch so that you can understand how to read and write formulas correctly in the first place so with this formula that we have on the screen it is written to 100 by weight but theres still lots of issues and with this particular product lets say that its a really nice consistency in

Stick Structures are a type of structural formula. They use points/corners to represent carbon atoms and symbols for other elements. Any carbon that does not have an octet with the symbols shown is assumed to complete its octet using hydrogen atoms.
A structural formula indicates the bonding arrangement of the atoms in the molecule. Ball-and-stick and space-filling models show the geometric arrangement of atoms in a molecule. Isomers are compounds with the same molecular formula but different arrangements of atoms.
In chemistry, the ball-and-stick model is a molecular model of a chemical substance which displays both the three-dimensional position of the atoms and the bonds between them. The atoms are typically represented by spheres, connected by rods which represent the bonds.
These models allowed rotation about the single rod bonds, which could be both an advantage (showing molecular flexibility) and a disadvantage (models are floppy). The approximate scale was 5 cm per ngstrm (0.5 m/nm or 500,000,000:1), but was not consistent over all elements.
Paper can be represented by the chemical formula of glucose that is (C6H10O5)n. There is no formula for paper, but its mostly cellulose, a long chain polysaccharide, with mixed lignans and phenolics. The higher the percentage of cellulose, the better the paper.
Ball and Stick Model Advantages: Useful for illustrating the arrangement of atoms in 3D space. Especially useful for visualizing the shape of a molecule.
A formula sheet is an aid that students use for tests in math, science, and trades courses. The purpose of a formula sheet is to help a student recall formulas so that they can solve test items independently.
The drawings below are ball-and-stick models of these molecules and show the bond angles very clearly. Ordinarily, simple structural formulas like the ones shown above for methane and ethane are used, since they are much easier to draw.
Thus, the composition of the paper is heterogeneous in nature consisting of a mixture of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and/or different lignin compounds which makes it not possible for the paper to have a particular formula.
A ball and stick model can be used to show the structure of a simple molecule. This type of model has the advantage of showing how the atoms are connected and how they are arranged in space, including the angles between bonds.
