Today, with an average price of less than $400, the Charter Arms Boxer is a good buy. Charter Arms revolvers feature lightweight frames. While much of the revolver is aluminum, the frame itself is steel.
Known for its rugged reliability and stopping power, Charters . 44 Special is a versatile revolver for personal or home protection. With a barrel length of 2.5, the . 44 Special is one of the larger revolvers to qualify for concealed carry.
Famously called the most powerful handgun [cartridge] in the world by Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry, the . 44 Magnum has since been eclipsed in power by the . 454 Casull, . 460 SW Magnum, .
44 Special. These include both the traditional 246-grain RNL load from Winchester and the new 240-grain flat point load. Both average about 755 fps from the Bulldogs 3-inch barrel.
The Charter Arms . 38 is a light, useful and concealable revolver. I practice enough with my snub-nose revolvers to maintain a degree of proficiency. They are not fun to fire, but with proper practice loads and the occasional duty load for familiarization, they are not bears to fire either.
The Bulldog has been available for the . 44 Special and . 357 Magnum cartridges. Charter Arms BulldogCartridge.44 Special or .357 MagnumCaliber.44 or .357ActionTraditional double-action or double action onlyRate of fireSingle17 more rows
44 Magnums recoil is absorbed by the grips, which makes this revolver pleasant enough to use. Its easy to handle light loads, and a full house is no problem. In terms of accuracy, its more than enough for anything from target shooting to home protection to handgun hunting from acceptable range.
Charter . 38s are among the smallest revolvers in this caliber. Yes they can handle +P but we do not recommend it for the following reasons: +P ammo requires a four-inch minimum barrel to burn the extra powder.
