Ive been asked several times recently about whether you should be concerned with domain companies and hosting companies claiming they offer free SSL certificates. Is this important? And what about some companies who say you get free SSL for the first year, versus companies who say you get SSL forever free? What does it mean in a practical sense? And do you even need SSL on your website? Well, the simple short answer is yes, you need SSL on your website. Even if you arent taking card numbers or having login pages where people enter usernames and passwords, the Google search algorithm prioritizes sites that have an SSL certificate. Google feels so strongly about sites having SSL that now any sites who do not have them display a not secure warning in the Google Chrome browser. CSR - Certificate Signing Request. In order to get an SSL certificate for your website, you need to generate and submit a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) to the CA (Certificate Authority).
CAA records allow domain owners to declare which certificate authorities are allowed to issue a certificate for a domain. They also provide a means of indicating notification rules in case someone requests a certificate from an unauthorized certificate authority.
Adding a CAA record In the record editor, click Add and select CAA to add a new CAA record. Select the Provider tab. Enter the CAA record information. Name: the subdomain you want to create the record for, without the domain name. The record is created and visible in the record list.
If you use CAA, youre not tied to one CA. Its possible to create multiple CAA records for multiple CAs that you wish to do business with. Or you can use CAA to specify that no CA should issue certificates to your domain.

The eForm CSR-1 needs to be verified digitally by a Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), or a Cost Accountant (CA) in practice. After verification of the form by a CA, CS or cost accountant, submit the Form CSR-1 on the portal.
How To Generate A CSR for Multi-Domain SSL Certificates? Create a copy of OpenSSL config file. Edit the config file and enable [ v3req ] Enable SubjectAltName under [ v3req ] section. Add Alt Name or SAN names in the config file. Generate the private key. Generate the CSR for multi-domain or SAN certificate. Test the CSR.
Multi-domain certificates allow for a single unique IP address for multiple domain names. A primary SSL certificate is issued with additional alternative domains listed on the same certificate. One certificate can be installed for all domains listed within the approved list.
It is recommended that you generate a CSR each time you renew your old certificates. Though some web servers may allow you to use the old CSR, generating a new one takes care of incorporating new encryption methods and hashing algorithms into the new certificates.
CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is the message thats sent to the CA in order to get a digital certificate created. A CSR is often generated on the same server on which the certificate is to be installed. Before creating a CSR, the applicant must first generate a public-private key pair.
