When can you obtain the stack ID?

No, its not possible to change an existing stacks name, either with or without the CDK. Under the hood, cdk deploy sets the stack name with the CloudFormation CreateChangeSet API (then ExecuteChangeSet) on create. The stack name is a unique, immutable id in CloudFormation.

Is it possible to rename a stack?

Its not possible to rename a stack. You have to delete it, and create new one with the name you want.

Is it possible to update a stack?

Use the aws cloudformation update-stack command to directly update a stack. You specify the stack, and parameter values and capabilities that you want to update, and, if you want use an updated template, the name of the template. To use the Amazon Web Services Documentation, Javascript must be enabled.

What is the naming convention for stack?

A stack name can contain only alphanumeric characters (case-sensitive) and hyphens. It must start with an alphabetic character and cant be longer than 128 characters. In the Parameters section, specify parameters that are defined in the stack template.

Can we update the stack after it has been created?
