whats up guys im chirag and welcome to part 2.5 of the tutorial series on aws cloud formation so guys in this tutorial we will go through the stack chain set in aws cloud formation so when should we use or when can we use a stack chain set right so well uh lets say we have a stack that is already deployed and we want to perform some modification like we want to add new resource to the existing stack or we want to modify the configuration of the existing resource for example we want to change the instance type of an ec2 instance or lets say we want to delete the given resource from the deployed stack right so at that point of time we can create the chain set for the given set so lets have a look so as you can see on my screen i have this upgrade underscore test.yaml so what this template will do is its going to simply take an input from the user which will be the bucket name and its going to create the s3 bucket for us correct so what we are going to do is we are going to upload

Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the AWS CloudFormation console at . On the Stacks page, choose Create stack, and then choose With existing resources (import resources).
To find a Stack ID, you can use either the Amazon EC2 console, AMS console, or the AMS SKMS API/CLI. AMS Console: In the navigation pane, select RFCs, and then click the RFC that created the stack. Use the filter option at the top to reduce the list.
Its not possible to rename a stack. You have to delete it, and create new one with the name you want.
The stack name is an identifier that helps you find a particular stack from a list of stacks. A stack name can contain only alphanumeric characters (case-sensitive) and hyphens. It must start with an alphabetic character and cant be longer than 128 characters.
