for a lot of years a common need around data has been how to unstack data you brought in a whole big tall column of data and its maybe got name address phone number name address phone number and now how do you get it in two separate columns and recently there has been this rash of requests to stack data that is in separate columns how do we get it stacked up heres an example somebody has three columns of data and he specifically wants the data stacked so that it looks like one a orange to be blue etc stacked in that particular way and not with the one two three four and then the ABCD and then the colors underneath Im going to show you two ways to do this we will do a getting transform way but first were going to use formulas and helper columns in order to use formulas we got to know what the pattern is and the pattern that we want this to follow is look we want d3 and then III then f3 then d 4e for f4 thats our pattern we can recreate that using helper columns here is helper one
