DigiX Nano. The DigiX Nano is one of the smallest and most powerful unlicensed walkie talkies available on the market. It has 10-hour continuous battery life and a number of useful features including group call and remote monitor as well as the ability to record 200 hours of communication on its flash memory.
Licence-free radios are generally lower-powered, handheld radios with a maximum power output of 0.5 watts. This gives them a much shorter range than their licensed counterparts. Licence-free radios are more often referred to as walkie talkies than their higher-powered, licensed counterparts.
An FCC license is required to operate GMRS system. Licenses are issued for a ten-year term and can be renewed between 90 days prior to the expiration date and up to the actual expiration date of the license.
Split means transmitting on one frequency and listening on another. This helps everyone hear the DX station better so they can time their calls, follow instructions, and not create unnecessary interference.
No License is required to operate on FRS channels.
Professional two-way radios operate on Private Land Mobile frequencies. Application is made on FCC Form 601 and Schedules D, E and G (which come with your radios). Or, you can download the application forms directly from the FCC website at: .fcc.gov.
What walkie talkie channels can I use without a license? If you are using a walkie-talkie that is labeled as FRS/GMRS, then you would need an FCC license to operate it. If your walkie-talkie is below 2 watts then you dont need a license for operating it.
The FRS is authorized 22 channels in the 462 MHz and 467 MHz range, all of which are shared with General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) which requires an individual license for use. FRS is licensed by rule.
