open the document that you need go to insert tab at the top tools bar look for the header tool click on it to see the full list of options choose the header style that you like and click on it to insert it to the page add the title to the header if necessary you can see that every page has the same header lets insert a new page go to layout tab click on the breaks tool and choose page from the list you can see the new page also has got the same header style if you want to change the header style just click on it the design tab will appear at the top tools bar click on the header tool at the top left corner of the window and choose the style that you like from the list edit the header text now lets create separate headers for separate sections click on the header that you want to change the design tab will appear at the top tools bar go to navigation block click on link to previous option if the option was selected it will unlink the header from all other headers in the document chan

Select Layout Breaks Next Page. Double-click the header or footer on the first page of the new section. Click Link to Previous to turn it off and unlink the header or footer from the previous section. Note: Headers and footers are linked separately.
Go to the Insert tab on the main menu and select Header from the Header Footer section. Choose a blank header or use one of the built-in options. In the Header Footer section, check the Different Odd Even Pages option.
Select the Layout tab, then click the Columns command. A drop-down menu will appear. Select the number of columns you want to create. The text will format into columns.
Go to Layout Breaks Next Page to create a section break. Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header Footer tab. Select Link to Previous to turn off the link between the sections.
To create a different header or footer for part of a document, youll need to divide the document into sections, and then break the connection between the header or footer in the current section and the previous one. On the Layout tab, click Columns, then click the layout you want. To apply columns to only part of your document, with your cursor, select the text that you want to format. On the Layout tab, click Columns, then click More Columns. Click Selected text from the Apply to box.
To disable Link to Previous, follow these steps: Go to Layout Breaks Next Page and insert a break wherever you want to switch to different header or footer information. In the first header of each new section, deselect Link to Previous. Format each section the way youd like.
