hi my name is Bree Clark and Im a software expert today Im going to show you how to make sortable headings in Excel on this spreadsheet I have a series of times and temperatures but nothings labeled so it makes it difficult to manage and sort so Im going to start by inserting a row along the top so Ill just right click on Row 1 and select insert now Im going to click above the times and type time as a label and then Ill tab over to cell b1 and type temperature and press Enter now if I go to sort and filter now and choose custom sort I can choose to sort by time or temperature see Excel recognizes that these are different from the data in the columns below and automatically assumes that those are headers here but if they werent I could deselect my data has headers and just sort by column a or column B but excels pretty smart so well leave that selected I can sort by time in largest to smallest click OK so thatll put them in a reverse order now I think with these its also nic
