Because theres one thing that only a very few people know in PowerPoint, and this is that, PowerPoint, by default, messes up your text boxes. If you insert a new text box in PowerPoint, it will be messed up and not be created in a way that you actually wanted to be and thats actually helpful for you to work with it. To cut a shape out of an image, youll need to: Insert an image onto a slide (typically in Normal View). Draw a shape on top of the image and move it to the area you want to cut out of the image. Select the image and then the shape by Shift-clicking. Use Merge Shapes to intersect or cut the shape out of the image.
Best thing you can do is this: Take a screen shot using the Snip n Sketch tool. Click on the [] Select Paint on the menu that will show up (you can try another photo editor app if you have another one) On the Paint window, youll see your screen shot. Click on the place you want to add the text and just type it in.
Resize a text box Select the text box. Select one of the handles and drag until the text box is the size you want.
Click the border of the text box that you want to delete, and then press Delete. Note: Make sure the pointer is on the border of the text box and not inside it. If the pointer is inside the box, pressing Delete will delete the text inside the text box, not the box.
What most would do is right-click the text box on the slide, click Format Shape, and then, under Text Options, click Picture or Texture Fill. From there, a picture can be selected and automatically placed into the text without issues.
Resize a text box Select the text box. Select one of the handles and drag until the text box is the size you want.
Select the picture (or pictures) that you want to crop. On the PICTURE TOOLS FORMAT tab, click Crop Crop to Shape, and then pick the shape you want.
Subtract the text from the image First select the rectangle, then while holding down ctrl, select the text box. With both rectangle and text box selected, go to the Shape Format tab from the menu bar, then go to Merge Shapes and select Subtract.
