so today were gonna take a look at dynamically populating a Microsoft Word document with PowerShell here we have a template do see X file and in that file we have two yellow placeholders for text were going to replace those using PowerShell a DLC X file is actually a zip archive you can rename any do CX file to dot zip in order to see the internal file contents so over here well take our template rename the dot zip double-click and you can see theres content types subfolders in the word subfolder theres a document XML this contains the body text for the document but all Microsoft Office four-letter file extensions are actually zip archives do CX pptx xlsx are all simple archives lets rename that back to DF CX and over here we have a PowerShell script what this is going to do is open the template file create a temp folder and it has a function to unzip and another function to zip and create an archive down here at the bottom were going to prepare the folder unzip the dock replace
