Each of these ways has its pros and cons and flaws so there's no one solution or method that does it all. So if you do add maybe two of these methods or perhaps even three of these methods then it's even better. Let's go onto method number one, which is using a PDF protection tool such as PDF2Go. So go to PDF2Go.com and then where you go is to the Protect PDF option. So if you go to all tools, there's an option to click on Protect PDF. From here you simply drag and drop your file right here. So this option is for PDF documents specifically. Add a password to docHub (pdf) Open the PDF and choose Tools Protect Encrypt Encrypt with Password. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
A permissions password (also known as a master password) requires a password to change permission settings. Using a permissions password, you can restrict printing, editing, and copying content in the PDF. Recipients dont need a password to open the document in Reader or Acrobat.
Removing a password from a document is a simple process, but you have to know the original password. Open the document and enter its password. Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Clear the password in the Password box, and then click OK.
Open the PDF and choose Tools Protection Encrypt Encrypt with Password 6. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. 7. Select Require A Password To Open The Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.

Windows users have many ways to encrypt or password protect PDFs for free. If your computer comes with a Microsoft Office license, you can do it in two steps. First, open the document, click on the Info tab, Protect Document, and then Encrypt with Password.
Sending a Password-Protected File Locate the file you want to send in the Connected Desktop. Right-click on the file(s) and select Send to Mail Recipient. Enable the checkbox for Password protect and encrypt all PDF documents sent in this email and click Send. Enter a password for the file. Click OK.
You can set a password on any template you create. If the template is shared with other users who have the permissions to edit (template create or share), they must first provide the password.
Transfer PDFs more securely. Launch Acrobat and select the Protect tool from the Tools menu. Choose your protection settings. Once youve protected your file, save it as a separate copy for safekeeping. Select Share With Others from the top toolbar. Add the recipients email addresses. Select Send to share your file.
