Click the Text Outline button in the WordArt Styles section. The button looks like the letter A being outlined with a pencil. Note that even if youre working on a text box, the section will still be called the same thing.

With Outline view, you can edit your slides and move them around as needed, and easily control what information is displayed using Words Heading Styles.
To put a border around the text box or other elements in your Google Slides presentation: Step 1: Click on the text box or the element. Step 2: Press the Border color button on the toolbar for a hint of color! Step 3: Select your border color.
Select the text in the WordArt or on the PowerPoint slide that you want to add an outline to. To add the same outline to text in multiple places, select the first piece of text, and then press and hold CTRL while you select the other pieces of text. To add or change an outline color, click the color that you want.
