today were going to demonstrate a 16-inch record that was used in radio stations back in the 50s maybe the 60s as well this is a record that I think they call a transcription discs that was used in radio stations for you know getting more information on a record basically but were demonstrating it today on a PL 50 Sansui turntable which I review in another video but just to show you how big this record is heres a standard 12-inch record and Ill place it on the center of it just so you can see just how much bigger this red record is that I got here and the turntable that Im using will only play this because I have the guts taken off of it or then actually not the guts were looking at the guts but the the cover was taken off the top another interesting thing about this record it is it was cut in this direction as opposed to this direction so the grooves actually start here and go that way but because this is a linear tracking turntable it is actually able to keep up with that and
