- Okay, lets talk DNS records. Theres a bunch of different types of records. Were not going to talk about all the different types of records cause I think wed be working on that for hours but well talk about some of the major ones, some of the main types of DNS records that are most often used, including the ones that you see in front of you. So first up, the A records also known as the host records. What these ones do is convert a host name like schuetzler.net or google.com into an IP address. These are the meat of DNS. They convert words that humans can read more easily into numbers, IP addresses that computers read. Theres two different kinds of host records, theres A and theres four A. The A records are for IPv4, which is eventually going to be phased out but its still very much widely used today. And an IPv4 address, for example, 208.94.116.204. That is the IP address of my server, my website. And that is an A record. And four A are for IPv6, the newest version of the i

Vinyl records also come in three standard diameters: 7-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch. The larger the diameter, the longer the groove can be and the greater the possible playing times, dependent upon rotational speed. (The actual playing time is a ratio between speed and the length of the grooves.)
Records come in three standard sizes: 7-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch.
33 RPM will generally lead to more playtime fitting on a record side. Going with 45 RPM will generally lead to playtime and low production costs being sacrificed for more audio quality. This is due to the fact that a higher speed allows the recording to fit more sound information in each second.
One, in particular, has to do with three numbers: 33, 45, and 78. These numbers refer to the rate at which the record spins on the record player, measured in revolutions per minute (rpm). Most high-quality lp players record players will come equipped to turn at these three standard speeds.
78s are usually made of shellac which is heavier and stiffer than vinyl. You can hold a record by the edges and tap in the deadwax with a fingernail. Its a brighter sound than vinyl which sounds like a dull frisbee. Most 78s are 10 or 12.
The size is the most notable difference in the performance of 78 shellac records and 33 or 45 vinyl records. The 45s are typically 7 inches, but 78s and 33s can be either 10 or 12 inches.
Generally speaking, all of the records that you would see down in a local record store (or a Barnes and Noble) are 33 RPM, 12-inch releases. There are some examples of 45 RPM records in the 12 form factor. They are often part of audiophile pressings or special releases.
Generally, 12-inch vinyl records run at 33 RPM while records that are 7 inches operate at 45 RPM. This can easily be found via the central label. This isnt a perfect method, however. If you have a record that is a 12-inch single, as opposed to an LP, the speed is more than likely going to run at 45 RPM.
All records are measured and sorted by their RPM, which stands for revolutions per minute. This metric refers to how many times the platter, and therefore the record, will spin completely in one minute.Analog vs Digital 33 1/3 RPM. 45 RPM. 78 RPM.
The 33 1/3 rpm and 45 rpm speeds continue to be the standards to this very day; 78 rpm records were largely phased out by the mid-1950s. Vinyl records also come in three standard diameters: 7-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch.
