PDFs contain metadata for easy identification of file creators, modification history, and more. DocHub Pro offers a paid option to modify metadata, but a free alternative is available. Use Sedja's PDF editor by uploading your file. Existing information like creation date will already be filled in. Add new fields by typing a label and value, such as "artist" and the artist's name. Click add to save changes.

PDF documents created in Acrobat 5.0 or later contain document metadata in XML format. Metadata includes information about the document and its contents, such as the authors name, keywords, and copyright information, that can be used by search utilities.
If you go to the document properties of a PDF file (control or command d), if the proper metadata is available, it will list the creation date and time and modified date and time. This can help you determine if a pdf file has been modified since creation. However, it is not foolproof.
The standard PDF metadata includes the following fields: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Application, PDF Producer, Created, Modified and etc. The metadata can be viewed and edited via File Properties menu in docHub Acrobat (Desription tab).
Open you browser in PDF free application web site and go to Metadata tool. Click inside the file drop area to upload a PDF file or drag drop a PDF file. File will be automatically rendered for you to view edit metadata instantly. Store your results by pressing in the Save button.
To find out when a PDF was created, youll need to locate the documents properties with these steps: Open the PDF in Acrobat. Choose File. Select Properties. Click the Description tab. Find the creation date and time near the title and author.
PDF files retain some basic file description metadata, such as author, file name, and date, which can be minimized if the proper conversion settings are used (see page 31).
In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF or image. Click the Info button in the toolbar. Use the tools in the Inspector window to view more information about the PDF or image. View general information about a PDF or image.
If you have Acrobat - just open the PDF and press ctrl+d to edit those properties. In explorer just right click on the columns and select to display Title and Description and it should show up.
