If its not working for you, perhaps there is an incorrect setting with the send SMS/MMS? You can send a pdf by text. Go to Settings Messages Is SMS/MMS turned on? If no, contact your cellular provider to ensure your phone has been provisioned for MMS/SMS messaging.
How to Attach a File to an Email on Your iPhone To attach a document on your iPhone, tap anywhere in the body of the email. This will cause a pop-up menu to appear. Then tap the right arrow key in the pop-up menu. Next, select Add Document. Finally, select a document from the Recents list to attach it.
How to share a PDF on an iPhone Navigate to the Files app. Open your desired document. In the bottom left hand corner of the screen, tap the share icon. Select how you want to share your PDF.
Read any PDF file on an iPhone. the Acrobat Reader app from the App Store. Launch the app. On the bottom menu bar, select Files. Locate the file on your iPhone and select it. You can now scroll through and read your PDF.
For MMS to work, your iPhone needs to have the correct settings selected. When you send a PDF file, its not sent as a regular text message, but as a multimedia message. Regardless, ensure that Send as SMS is toggled on in your settings. Files will automatically be sent as an MMS.
Send files from Files on iPhone Touch and hold the file, then tap Share. Tip: To send a smaller version of the file, tap Compress before you tap Share. Choose an option for sending (for example, AirDrop, Messages, or Mail), then tap Send.
This will happen if you dont have the right viewing software downloaded to your device. The most common type of greyed-out file on iPhone is a PDF. While PDFs are great for maintaining formatting, they require specific software to view. Without a proper reader, your PDF files will be greyed out on your iPhone.
Simply upload your PDF document as an attachment to your mail message, click send, et voila! Bear in mind, however, that some email services have file size limitations. For example, the limit if you have a Gmail account is 25 MB, and for Microsoft Outlook its 20 MB.
