You may want to share your SharePoint file anonymously. That means anyone can open it, even if they dont have access to your SharePoint site or an account for your work or school. So this time were going to look at how to safely share a file that anyone can use. In this scenario I have a press release in a Word file. Ive created the Word file in a SharePoint library in the marketing site. Now I want to create a link that anyone can use to open the press release, even if theyre not a member of my organisation - Collaboration Coach, or they have access to the Marketing site. I have a couple of other conditions too. I dont want them to be able to edit the file. I want the link to expire after 30 days and I dont want them to be able to download the file either. I just want them to read it in the browser. Now, to do that Im going to select the file, choose share from the toolbar and Ill choose this link setting button here. Try it! Select Share. Save it to OneDrive. Give the file a name. Select permissions to decide who has access to the file and if they can edit it. Add names or email addresses for the people you want to share with. Type an optional message if you want. Select Send.

Uncheck Allow editing if you only want others to be able to view the file.
Invite people to the file Tap the Share icon. Set how you would like the link to work by pressing the option of who can access the link at the top of the menu.
Right click the file and select Share. Share on the toolbar. Select who you want to share with from the drop-down, or enter a name or email address. Add a message (optional) and select Send.
