Base64 is a group of similar binary-to-text encoding schemes that represent binary data in an ASCII string format by translating it into a radix-64 representation. The term Base64 originates from a specific MIME content transfer encoding.
This online converter encodes the contents of remote file or webpage to Base64 (that is, it automatically downloads the remote data and convert it to Base64). To use it, just type or paste the URL and press “Encode URL to Base64” (make sure that the URL is publicly available).
EncodeToString() method to retrieve the base64 encoding of the image. The result of this function call is appended to the URI scheme header. Once you run this code, it will print the base64 encoding of the image to the standard output provided file. png exists on the filesystem.
Base64 only contains A–Z , a–z , 0–9 , + , / and = . So the list of characters not to be used is: all possible characters minus the ones mentioned above. For special purposes . and _ are possible, too.
The difference between Base64 and hex is really just how bytes are represented. Hex is another way of saying "Base16". Hex will take two characters for each byte - Base64 takes 4 characters for every 3 bytes, so it's more efficient than hex.
Radix-64 (as described for OpenPGP) OpenPGP, described in RFC 4880, describes Radix-64 encoding, also known as "ASCII Armor". Radix-64 is identical to the "Base64" encoding described from MIME, with the addition of an optional 24-bit CRC.
How to convert image to Base64 online Choose the source of image from the “Datatype” field. Paste the URL or select an image from your computer. If necessary, select the desired output format. Press the “Encode image to Base64” button. Download or copy the result from the “Base64” field.
Encoding data into base64 format By consisting only of ASCII characters, base64 strings are generally url-safe, and that's why they can be used to encode data in Data URLs.
The base64 is a binary to a text encoding scheme that represents binary data in an ASCII string format. base64 is designed to carry data stored in binary format across the channels. It takes any form of data and transforms it into a long string of plain text.
Base64 encoding is a way to encode binary data in ASCII text. It's primarily used to store or transfer images, audio files, and other media online. It is also often used when there are limitations on the characters that can be used in a filename for various reasons.
