hello in this video I am going to demonstrate how to number your pages in an Open Office for document and suppress that number on the first page because a lot of writing style guides insist upon that and its actually kind of tricky to do it up in office so here we go I of course first Im going to open a new document and now we know we want to number many pages so Im going to quickly create a multi-page document page 1 page 2 page 3 you know Im gonna go back up to the top to page 1 and the first thing we have to do is create a place for the page number to go which is in the header so Im going to insert header and default is my only option so Im going to click it and if you look this is the header boxes where you type in header information and it automatically appears on all three pages so now I want to to number these pages in OpenOffice speak numbering a page is a field and so to do that Im going to insert a field into our header and that field will be page number now thats all
