gday there groovers and this video here just wanted to talk a little about file compression and file size and different formats to use but really specifically just wanted to talk about photo the photoshop format the dot psd file or tiff files and in the past id previously saved all my images using the dot psd extension and i dont do that anymore i stick just with tiff file now and theres a couple of good reasons for that one is file size and it just completely reduces the amount of size thats required on your hard drives and when youre working with a lot of images and using lots of layers and stuff like that if you can save half the file size so if youre working on a 100 meg image which would which it would be as a dot psd file and you can get that down to 50 meg or 55 meg its better my way of thinking is its better to have that 50 meg free on your hard drive and youre not sacrificing any of the quality either so i did a couple of tests just to show you exactly what im talk

Both PNG and TIFF files benefit from lossless compression, meaning that no matter how often you save, open, or resize them, they'll maintain their quality.
TIFF files support CMYK color, which is the standard format for color printing. TIFFs also support RGB.

Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) has a TIFF or TIF extension. It creates very large image size as it contains a large volume of image data (TIFF stores its storage algorithm as a part of the image file). TIFF images are usually saved using 24-bit or 48-bit (in the last case each RGB color store 16 bit alone).
The TIFF header consists of a 3–byte unique sequence, followed by a pointer to the first image file directory (IFD) of the TIFF file. TIFF files contain structures called image file directories (IFDs) that contain TIFF tags and the values associated with them.
What can you do to repair TIFF file? Open the TIFF file with other software. ... Change the name of the TIFF file. ... Download or transfer the TIFF file again from its original location. ... Make a copy of the corrupted TIFF file and convert the duplicate TIFF file to any other graphic format (such as JPEG, BMP, or PNG).
Navigate to Window > Color > Color to bring up the Color panel if it is not already open. You will see colors measured in individual percentages of CMYK or RGB, depending on your document's color mode.
The TIFF image appears black as the palette of shades the computer screen has is way more limited than that of the TIFF image (256 levels per color on the computer screen versus 65536 levels per color in the TIFF file).
The TIFF format is therefore ideal for printing high quality images. Image information is either not compressed at all or compressed without any loss of data....TIFF: Tagged Image File Format. A TIFF, which stands for Tag Image File Format, is a computer file used to store raster graphics and image information. A favorite among photographers, TIFFs are a handy way to store high-quality images before editing if you want to avoid lossy file formats.
