A log-log plot represents observed units described by two variables, say x and y , as a scatter graph . In a log-log plot, the two axes display the logarithm of values of the variables, not the values themselves.
Double-click on the chart to bring up Chart editor. Go to the Customize tab. Open the Vertical axis tab and check Log scale. Open the Horizontal axis tab and check Log scale.
Select the Scale tab on the Format Axis window. Click the Logarithmic Scale check box near the bottom of the window. This changes the charts axis to a log scale.

If Y = log(y) and X = log(x) then Y = nX. This shows the linear relationship. Plotting Y against X, i.e., log(y) against log(x), leads to a straight line as shown below. (a) a (b) b (c) c (d) d Note that the scales on the two axes are not the same.

Graphing Logarithmic Functions Step 1: Find some points on the exponential f(x). The more points we plot the better the graph will look. Step 2: Switch the x and y values to obtain points on the inverse. Step 3: Determine the asymptote. Graph the following logarithmic functions. State the domain and range.
Logarithmic price scalealso referred to as logrepresents price spacing on the vertical or y-axis dependent on the percentage of change in the underlying assets price. This is usually the default chart style.
Furthermore, a log-log graph displays the relationship Y = kXn as a straight line such that log k is the constant and n is the slope. Equivalently, the linear function is: log Y = log k + n log X.
Example: Log-Log Plot in Excel Step 1: Create a scatterplot. Highlight the data in the range A2:B11. Step 2: Change the x-axis scale to logarithmic. What is this? Report Ad. Step 3: Change the y-axis scale to logarithmic. Next, click on the y-axis and repeat the same step to change the y-axis scale to logarithmic.
